What Happens if My Canal Treatment Fails?
On occasions root canal treatments may fail and this is due to many different reasons such as persistent infection, cracked tooth, improper techniques or reinfection. You will need expert advice to assess if the tooth is worth Re-Root Treating or Extracting.
Thankfully, when the right advice is sought and proper treatment is undertaken initially the success rates are very high and the risk of failure is rare. At Bespoke Dental & Implant Clinic, our Endodontist will first assess whether the tooth is worth saving or whether it’s better to be removed. Although you’ll likely experience numbness for 2 to 4 hours after the procedure, most patients can return to school or work immediately following a root canal. However, it’s recommended to avoid eating until the numbness has completely subsided.
