Yes, you have the option to have your surgery under a sleep-induced state with Dental Sedation.  I have many patients who specifically approach me because I offer Intravenous (IV) Sedation. Dentistry and dental surgery cause anxiety for many people, and unfortunately, many have suffered horror stories from the 60s and 70s.

Dental anxiety is a real concern for many people, and just the thought of having treatment in the mouth can cause many to avoid getting the care they really need. It is always a pleasure for me to be able to offer IV sedation, because it helps people make the impossible possible.

Intravenous Sedation is the main solution for providing sleepy dentistry. This is not a general anaesthetic (GA), as GA is strictly carried out in hospital settings only. I do not recommend GA for any of my patients as the risks are higher for GA compared to IV sedation. It is well documented that IV Sedation in experienced hands carries a negligible risk and is much safer than GA. I am a huge advocate for Dental Sedation and highly recommend it to anyone who has a dental phobia or even looking for a more pleasant method to have surgery.

In conclusion, here at Bespoke Dental & Implant Clinic, we carry out more than 50 cases of IV sedation per month for Dental procedures such as Dental Implants. If you are nervous, please do not hesitate to explore this option with us because we have a proven track record of delivering painless Dentistry.
