About Dental Implants

A dental implant is a small titanium post placed into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. Over time, the implant fuses with the bone in a process called osseointegration. Once healed, a custom-designed crown, bridge or full-arch restoration is securely attached.

They can be used for either a single or multiple missing teeth, full arch restoration or mouth rehabilitation (including All-on-Four concepts).

The Dental Implants Process

  1. Examination & 3D Scan to review your suitability and oral health.
  2. Personlised Report explaining your options, the benefits, risks, costs, and healing.
  3. Surgery, performed under local anaesthetic or sedation for comfort.
  4. Review, conducted within two weeks to ensure healing.
  5. Impression & Fit for your bespoke dental implant prosthesis (crown, bridge, or denture).
  6. Follow ups conducted every 6 months for the first year and then annually.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do Dental Implants Last Forever?

Who is suitable for Dental Implants?

How should I maintain my Dental Implants?

What if I am unsuitable for surgery?

Do you offer financing for dental implants?

How do Dental Implants Work?

Answer

No. Dental Implants require precision surgery and meticulous oral hygiene to maintain them. With appropriate care, they can last a lifetime. If gingival health is not maintained, bacteria can accumulate around dental implants, causing gum disease, bleeding gums, recession, and implant thread exposure.

In our report, we detail your oral health condition, comment on your general medical status, and list all relevant risk factors you should be aware of.

All adults with stable oral health and generally stable medical conditions are suitable. If, for any reason, we identify risk factors that may affect the treatment, this will be explained in full from the offset.

We recommend brushing and flossing twice a day to maintain a healthy mouth. Following the first year of having dental implants fitted, we advise 6 monthly assessments and an annual inspection at our clinic thereafter. In addition, visiting the Dental Hygienist twice a year will provide the supportive therapy you need.

If you are deemed unsuitable for Dental Implant surgery, the Dental Surgeon will justify their reasons and provide alternative options. It may be a case of improving the gum health before embarking upon surgery, or considering a non-surgical option.

Yes, we understand that dental implant cost can be a significant investment. We offer flexible financing options to help make your treatment accessible. Please discuss your needs during your consultation, and our team will explain the available plans.

  • Examination

We assess your oral health, bone levels and medical history to ensure suitability.

  • 3D Scan

A CBCT scan allows precise digital planning before any surgery takes place.

  • Personalised Report

You receive a detailed treatment plan outlining your options, the benefits and risks, healing times and a clear cost breakdown.

  • Surgery

The titanium implant post is precisely placed in your jawbone, performed under local anaesthetic or sedation for comfort.

  • Review

We schedule a review within two weeks post-surgery to ensure healing.

  • Impression

Once the implant has securely fused with your bone (healing times differ for everyone), we take a final impression or digital scan, from which our skilled technician will craft your bespoke dental implant prosthesis (crown, bridge, or denture).

  • Fit

Your new dental implant prosthesis is fitted and adjusted to ensure it integrates perfectly and functions with your existing dentition, restoring your natural bite.

  • Follow-Up

We recommend follow-ups every 6 months for the first year, then annually, either with your referring dentist or our implant surgeon.
