What are Composite Veneers?
Composite veneers are thin shells made from a resin material that precisely matches the shade of your natural teeth. It is the same material that is used for composite bonding.
Veneers are thinner than dental crowns and attach only to the front surfaces of your teeth.
What is the Procedure for Getting Composite Veneers?
Two appointments are required to get dental veneers. During the first visit, your dentist will clean your teeth thoroughly to remove any plaque or food debris and take an impression.
On the second visit, the custom-made veneers will be fitted to your teeth. Your dentist will remove a very thin layer of your enamel to make room for and allow the veneers to bond to your teeth properly. A thin layer of adhesive glue will be applied to the front surfaces of your teeth and then hardened with a curing light to help the veneers stick in place. Once the veneers are set, your dentist will smooth out any stray edges and polish them, leaving you with a gleaming smile.
